School conversion due for completion in March 2009

Construction is due for completion in March 2009 on the conversion of Ecclesbourne School, Islington, London. The school is being converted into residential use comprising 63no units. Planning consent was obtained April 2005 and construction commenced October 2007 and is due to be completed March 2009. The former school site provides accommodation for developer-client Durkan Estates. It will be completed at a cost of approximately �6million.

Construction nears completion at Felstead Street

Construction is nearing completion on our new build mixed-use scheme at Felstead Street, Hackney. The accommodation comprises 960m2 of commercial use, and 122 residential units. The former brownfield site is located in Hackney Wick, bordering the 2012 Olympic site. It is being developed for Family Mosaic into a mix of affordable and private tenures, by Mount Anvil for approximately �17.5M. The scheme gained planning approval at appeal August 2006 and started on site November 2006. It is due for completion January 2009.

Gosterwood granted planning consent 9 Oct 2008

Planning permission was granted for this new-build mixed use development of 39 units in Lewisham. It was acquired from Rock One Investments, and is to be developed by a Circle Anglia for low cost home ownership. The accommodation comprises 240m2 commercial space and 39 units (12no x1bed, 24no x2bed, and 3no x3bed).

Sedgwick Street completed September 2008

Construction has been completed at Sedgwick Street for this scheme of 55no units and 1188m2 B1 space in Homerton, Hackney. The scheme was originally prepared for Countryview Properties and subsequently sold to, and built for Servite Houses. Countryside Properties Ltd are the main contractor. It will be completed at a cost of approximately �7.5million.

Belval, Luxembourg � only UK practice in competition shortlist

Stephen Davy Peter Smith Architects have been confirmed as the only UK practice to have been shortlisted alongside 7 other international practices to go through to the next stage of the competition for Belval Engineering Faculty Building (Maison de l�Ingeniur, Belval); a university building for researchers and postgraduate (masters) students studying engineering and geophysics. The next stage of the submission will be to submit the scheme design in November, the final competition results will be published in January 2009. www.fonds-belval.lu.
